What to expect and frequently asked questions

Thinking about booking a shoot? Download my Pre-Shoot Guide here it will give you a little taste of what a session with me is like and may answer some questions you may have.

Most sessions will last between 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the children and the shots taken this may be shorter or longer.

I create a relaxed and fun session that all members of the family can enjoy.

What to Wear

Once you have booked your session I will send you a Shooting for Success guide which will step you through what to wear on your session.

What you wear is key to a successful photoshoot.
Choosing the right clothing and preparing for your shoots helps to bring out the best version of you and your family.
Colours, clothing and accessories help to create the mood and set the tone for your shoot as well as complement the home where the final images will be displayed.
Your style should be as unique as your family, so here is some clothing advice for a creative and natural photo session

For inspiration on what to wear feel free to browse the galleries here or check out my Pinterest board here

If you feel uncomfortable in what you are wearing, it tends to show in the photos. If you don’t normally wear little dresses and high heels – it’s probably not a good idea to wear them on the day of your portrait session. Jeans are always a good option! Women are often self conscious about their arms, so if that is you, long sleeves are often a good option.

Where Should We Hold Our Shoot?

AT HOME
Best for newborns and small children as toddlers and babies tend to be comfortable in their own environment, plus everything you need is at your fingertips.

ON LOCATION
Best for older children, or bigger families, unless you have an outdoor area at home that can accommodate everyone.
Choose your favourite farm, river, urban or park location (or ask me for recommendations).
Time is important to consider the light and the crowds, especially for public locations (these must be done early morning or late afternoon).

How Soon Do I Need To Book?

Sessions are held on Saturdays and Sundays in the mornings and afternoons – the actual session time depends really on the age of the child, their sleeping patterns, the chosen location, and of course the best lighting conditions. Sessions are typically booked 2-4 weeks in advance.

If you need the images for a particular date, keep in mind that you will receive you gallery to view 2 weeks after your session. Once you have decided on your images and your payment has been received, it will take 3-4 weeks to receive your products depending on what you have ordered.
